One for One
When you buy something new (i.e. a pair of shoes or a piece of clothing), find an old item of the same type to toss or donate, which you no longer use.
Have a Place
When you buy something new, make sure you have a proper place for it before you bring it home.
Trash Day
Once a week do a quick walk through of your home with a paper or plastic bag to collect unwanted clutter and garbage before the trash goes out.
Excess Supplies
Buy only what you need or can properly store in your designated area. Things are always going on sale, so let the stores keep the inventory in their warehouses. This will reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed with excess items.
Centralized Documents
Create a central place for all your important documents so you will always know where they are located. It’s also a good idea if it’s portable just in case of an emergency.
